There is a bat in the house right now
Do not try to catch it by hand. Close the interior doors so it is confined to one room, open an exterior door or window in that room, turn the lights down and give it space. A bat that can find open air will normally take it without any help.
Bat teeth are small and a bite can be difficult to feel or see. If the bat was in a room with someone who was asleep, with a young child, or with anyone who cannot say reliably whether contact happened, it should not be released. Keep it contained if that can be done safely, and contact the Florida Department of Health about testing and next steps.
This is general guidance on handling the situation, not medical advice. A specific exposure question belongs with a clinician rather than with a wildlife company. Florida Department of Health: Rabies
